Understanding Lucent Policies

We encourage evryone to review this page before treatment. Your technician will have you sign a waiver before treatment. This is a legal requirement, Lucent White is DEDICATED to the highest standards of safety and satisfaction.

Lucent Whitening – Terms, Policies, and Disclaimers

At Lucent Whitening, our goal is to provide clients with a professional, safe, and enjoyable cosmetic teeth whitening experience. In order to maintain clarity, protect both the client and our technicians, and set proper expectations, the following terms and policies apply to all services and purchases made with Lucent Whitening.

Appointments & Scheduling

Booking Policy

  • All appointments require either a deposit or full prepayment depending on the service tier selected. This ensures that our technicians’ time is reserved specifically for you and that your treatment slot is secured.

  • A booking is not considered confirmed until payment has been received. Clients will receive a confirmation email or text once the appointment has been finalized.

Rescheduling & Cancellations

  • We understand that schedules change. Clients may reschedule or cancel appointments with at least 24 hours’ notice.

  • Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may result in a $25 cancellation fee to cover reserved time and resources.

  • In the case of a no-show (failure to arrive without prior notice), 50% of the service total will be charged, and the remaining balance must be cleared before booking any future appointments. This policy is in place to protect our staff and to ensure fairness to other clients who may have wanted the time slot.

Late Arrivals

  • We encourage all clients to arrive on time so that the full treatment can be performed.

  • A 10-minute grace period will be allowed, but beyond that, the treatment time may need to be shortened or rescheduled. Shortened sessions will still be charged at the full rate, as the technician has reserved that time for you.

Refund & Return Policy

Services

  • Teeth whitening is a cosmetic service with results that vary from person to person. For this reason, all service sales are final once performed.

  • Refunds will not be issued for completed sessions, regardless of client satisfaction, as shade improvement is dependent on factors beyond the technician’s control (natural enamel color, stains, biology, and lifestyle).

Retail Products

  • Unopened and unused retail products may be returned within 7 days of purchase for a full refund, provided that the original receipt is presented.

  • Products that have been opened or used cannot be returned or refunded due to hygiene, safety, and health standards.

Waiver & Informed Consent

Standard Waiver

  • Every client must complete and sign a liability waiver and informed consent form before treatment begins.

  • This form confirms that the client understands the cosmetic nature of the procedure, acknowledges potential side effects such as temporary sensitivity or gum irritation, and consents to proceed at their own risk.

Extra Strength Treatments

  • Clients receiving whitening with gels containing 25% or higher hydrogen peroxide must sign an additional waiver. This waiver acknowledges that higher-strength gels increase the risk of temporary sensitivity and require protective measures such as gingival barriers.

Disclaimer on Results

Lucent Whitening strives to deliver noticeable improvements, but it is important to understand that results are not identical for every client.

Results depend on factors such as:

  • Natural tooth color and enamel thickness

  • Degree and type of staining (extrinsic vs. intrinsic)

  • Age and natural biology

  • Lifestyle habits such as smoking, coffee/tea consumption, or wine intake

What to expect:

  • A typical client may see results between 2–8 shades lighter after one session.

  • Results are cosmetic only and will not alter the natural structure of teeth.

  • No specific shade or result can be guaranteed, as each client’s enamel responds differently to whitening agents.

Post-Treatment Expectations

  • Clients may experience temporary tooth sensitivity or minor gum irritation after treatment. These effects are generally mild and subside within 24 hours.

  • Lucent provides optional Lucent Shield™ remineralizing gel to help ease discomfort, replenish minerals in the enamel, and extend results.

  • Clients are advised to follow all after-care guidelines provided by the technician. This includes avoiding staining foods and beverages (coffee, tea, red wine, dark sauces, smoking, etc.) for the first 24–48 hours to allow enamel pores to close fully.

Liability & Consent

By booking and undergoing a treatment with Lucent Whitening, you confirm and agree to the following:

  1. You are not pregnant or nursing.

  2. You do not have untreated dental conditions, such as cavities, gum disease, exposed roots, or oral infections.

  3. You have disclosed any dental work such as veneers, caps, crowns, or bridges and understand that these will not whiten in the same way as natural enamel.

  4. You have reviewed and signed the liability waiver and informed consent form, acknowledging both the cosmetic nature of the service and the associated risks.

  5. You accept that results vary and that no guarantee of a specific shade change is made.

Important Disclaimer

  • Lucent Whitening and its technicians are not dental professionals and do not diagnose, treat, or cure dental conditions.

  • All services provided are strictly cosmetic in nature and should never be considered a replacement for professional dental care.

  • Clients are encouraged to maintain regular visits with their licensed dentist for check-ups, cleanings, and oral health management.
